Why hero choice matters
Unlike cosmetic rosters, hero selection changes Break tempo, Defend reliability, Sever burst, and Karma interaction. A Thief crit build ignores Defend fundamentals at its peril; a Scholar control build wins boss fights with debuffs rather than raw limb damage. Meta progression via Hero Marks and Sigils further specializes each hero between runs in the Realm of Spirits.

Combat fundamentals by hero
All heroes share Combat: Break & Defend rules — limb targeting, Defend assignment, sever execution. Differences appear in action economy and debuff access. Boss-specific sever orders vary by hero in Sever Boss Limbs.
Demo vs full roster
